A Great Hat: Coolibar UPF 50+ Women’s Zip Off Sun Visor

I bought this hat before my recent cruise to the Mediterranean. When I got it, I wasn’t sure if I liked it or not. Trying it on in front of the mirror, I had a hard time getting past the fact that the brim is so large. The brim is twice as big as the brim on a traditional baseball cap. But I knew it would do what I needed it to do — keep the sun off of me — so I kept it. Reluctantly.  And boy, am I glad I did! Once I was on my cruise and walking around sunny ports, I realized just how great this hat is.  It will keep the sun off your entire face and ears which most hats won’t do. It even shades your neck somewhat. But at the same time it is very neat and compact. It wasn’t flopping around all over the place and getting in front of my face (or someone elses!)  like the floppy hats lots of the other cruise women were wearing. This hat has a nice, thick terry sweat band built in and made of some sort of breathable fabric it wasn’t hot on the head. The hat is adjustable in the back with a velcro strap which is also nice for quickly attaching it to the handle of your day pack when you aren’t wearing it. It fits well enough that I wasn’t too worried about it blowing off in the wind. The hat can be unzipped and worn as a visor only if you want. Once I started wearing the hat, the size of the brim no longer bothered me and I realized how comfortable I felt in this hat and how much more coverage this hat gives than any other I’ve ever owned. I bought the taupe which is a nice neutral color that will go with everything. I wish I’d gone daring though and purchased the pink. The pink is very pretty and really, who cares if your hat matches your outfit anyway when you’re on vacation?41Xa6hkR-SL
